GEORGINA GINIS, Principal and Teacher. Georgina has been dancing with the Victorian Ballet School since the age of four. When Georgina entered the senior school she undertook the Student Teaching Program with Vic Ballet. Georgina has been teaching at the Victorian Ballet School since 1999, and has been co-ordinating the jazz program and end of year performance for over 8 years. Georgina also taught dance at primary schools for the ‘Dance for fun’ program, is a member of CDEB (Classical Dance Education Board) and regularly attends seminars and workshops on dance, the body, and teaching technique’s. Georgina teaches; junior and senior classical ballet, jazz/funk/, contemporary, VCE dance, and Pilates. |

MARLEMA DASKALAKIS, Principal and Teacher. Marlema has been dancing with Victorian Ballet School since the age of four. In her 18 years of dancing she has studied Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz/Funk, and Character. Marlema attained Degree 5 assessment in Laurel Martyn Dance System (LMDS) and completed all LMDS exams in both junior and senior schools. Marlema finished her VCE studies at Carey Baptist Grammer School including VCE dance. She then went on to complete her Diploma in ‘Dance teaching and Management’ at Box Hill Institute. Marlema at this stage had already started teaching at Victorain Ballet School. Since then she has held many dance workshops for Camp Australia, and has attended many international workshops with well known American choreographer’s. Marlema has completed her ‘Bachelor of Contemporary Arts’ (Dance), at Deakin University, which has inspired her to become an exceptional choreographer. Marlema has been co-ordinating with other teachers the jazz program and end of year performance for over 6 years. She regulary attends seminars and workshops on dance, the body and teaching technique’s. and is a member of CDEB (Classical Dance Education Board) and SFD (Southern Federation of Dance). Marlema teaches; junior and senior classical ballet, jazz/ funk, contemporary, VCE dance, and Pilates. |
